License D Driver Training Requirments

  • Must hold a valid G license
  • At least 18 years of age
  • 6 Weeks Full-Time

License D – Dumper Driver Training Format

  • 36.5 hours of classroom instruction to cover MTO regulations and safety.
  • 12 hours of demo training for real-world operational knowledge.
  • 55 hours of 1-on-1 practical driving with experienced instructors.
  • Training includes PTI (Pre-Trip Inspection), Backing Techniques, and Driving Skills tailored for commercial trucks.

License D – Course Training Objectives

  • Master pre-trip inspections for dump trucks.
  • Learn coupling/uncoupling and backing techniques.
  • Develop confident on-road driving skills for various conditions.
  • Understand MTO-compliance standards for safe operation.
